From urban suites to lakeside retreats, seaside cottages to country homes, Patricia Fortunato has created unique spaces perfectly suited to her clients’ lifestyles. An accomplished designer who has studied abroad, Patricia is known for the high quality of her design and her talent for capturing the essence of her clients’ personalities.

Patricia’s background as a trained sculptor enhances her skill in designing in three dimensions, and allows her to expertly blend texture, form and space. As one client commented, “She goes a level deeper than other designers, with a true understanding of a home’s architectural elements.” Patricia also brings special insights to her projects when it comes to securing and working with various craftsmen. She has indepth experience as an artisan herself, with expertise in window treatments, wallpapering, tilework, fabric and landscaping. Her diverse skill set allows her to see the total picture, and ensures that craftsmanship and materials are of the highest standard.

Patricia’s clients frequently cite her organizational skills and attention to detail as key elements that enabled their projects to go smoothly. Many clients have worked with her for two decades, consistently relying on her talent and design sense as they remodel, move to new locations, or add a second home. Patricia’s clients span the country and the globe, although much of her work is now focused on the East Coast. Her designs have been featured in Accent Home & Garden Magazine, Maine Home & Design Magazine and Fine Home Building, and she was awarded the 2009 “Best of Accent Award” for Best Bath Design.

Patricia is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications, and a Maine State Licensed Interior Designer. She is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and the Maine Interior Design Association, where she has previously served as both board member and president. She has taught at the University of New Hampshire, and currently teaches a Decorating Workshop at the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.
